On September 10, 2025, Sony announced on PlayStation’s official blog the official launch of PlayStation Home Applications (PlayStation Family App) designed for Android and iOS equipment. The application integrates the existing parental control functions of PS5 and PS4 (e.g. age limit management and game time setting) and adds several customized features.

The application allows parents to receive a real-time notification of their children starting PlayStation, and to grant restricted game access and additional game time applications. The application also supports the setting of a daily game time limit and manages expenditure behaviour by setting a monthly consumption level at PlayStation.
Content filters are also integrated into the application of social interaction management, and parents can use mobile devices to customize privacy, manage social functions and configure age-appropriate content. The age preset feature is also used, and the recommended settings are automatically applied depending on the age of the child. To provide a more comprehensive overview of activities, users receive daily and weekly activity reports for quick access. The application is now available free of charge in “most markets”, only for iOS 14 and above and Android 8 and above.

In Boven, Cory Gasaway, Vice President of SIE Product Management, said: “We are happy to provide parents with an easy way to manage children’s games directly through mobile devices. This new game is only the beginning, and we will continue to add enhancements to PlayStation’s home application and gradually improve the experience.”
